Some of you might remember Qi’nya’s name used to be Qi’nah. Apparently this is a Jewish word, though I had picked it because I just liked the sound. I do that a lot. Anyway, after I found out, I started thinking that a demon who loves money and has a hooked nose probably should not use a Jewish word for their name. I swear I didn’t mean to a commit a hate crime. I might be being over thinking things, but out of and abundance of caution and respect I gave him a new name that was similar enough but which hopefully doesn’t have any cultural links. It really gave me a new appreciation for sensitivity readers and cultural consultants though.
