Avory and Thanatos

2014.08.26 – Clip Studio Paint
Artist Comment: My old friend Misty’s OC and my own… Sadly I’m not in contact with the vast majority of the people I used to be friends with when I drew these pictures. Misty and I had the same birthday, so I drew our OCs together as a gift.

Back Practice

2013.12.23 – PaintTool Sai
Artist Comment: Ostensibly, this was practice drawing backs, but it was mostly an excuse to draw a corset. That being said it’s not very good.

PaintTool Sai Practice

2013.07.05 – PaintTool Sai
Artist Comment: A lot of the images in these galleries are scaled up because I either lost the high-res version or couldn’t find the original sketch to scan. Anyway, this was practice with PaintTool Sai, I believe. I didn’t really spend that much time with this program.

Pandora Practice 2

2022.01.15 – watercolor; watercolor pencil; pencil; Sakura Gelly Roll pen
Artist Comment: After my failure with the previous watercolor picture, I immediately got to work on this one. I like it a bit more, it’s cuter, though the proportions are sitll off, and I didn’t push the colors as much as I’d like.

Pandora Practice 1

2022.01.15 – watercolor; watercolor pencil; pencil; Sakura Gelly Roll pen
Artist Comment: I was trying to use color schemes similar to what I use digitally, with a more yellow skin base, and pink and purple shadows. The proportions ended up all wrong, though. I tried to fix it digitally, but I still am not fond of the final picture.

Warm and Cold

2021.10.04 – watercolor; watercolor pencil; pencil; Sakura jelly pen
Artist Comment: The theme for this was warm and cool colors. That being said, I really wish I had pushed the theme more… The summer picture should have gone with a sunset instead of blue. Anyway, it’s rare to see Thanatos with short hair. Thanks to the Anne Rice novels, my vampires regrow their hair quickly when it’s cut, so if he cuts it it’s back to normal by the end of the day. That being said, long hair is a pain for things like swimming so sometimes he cuts it rather than dealing with it.

Jocelyn Watercolor

2019.03.11 – watercolor; watercolor pencil; Sharpie marker; Signo gel pen; washi tape
Artist Comment: I had bought a bunch of small square cardstock, thinking it would be a good paper to use both marker and watercolor on. However, it had a weird coating to it that made it difficult for either medium to stick to, so I didn’t end up using it much.

Journal Art 2

2021.07.11 – Copic pen; Signo gel pen; watercolors; stickers
Artist Comment: Ogi shows up disproportionately because I like her character design a lot. I also like adding accents like stickers and washi tape to traditional media, it makes the process a lot more fun.

Journal Art 1

2021.04.10 – Copic pen & marker
Artist Comment: Just a little chibi Thanatos picture I stuck in one of my journals.

Lycoris

2019.10.07 – Copic pen & marker; Signo gel pen; black ink
Artists Comment: I had a large frame that had space for several pictures and I wanted to fill it as a Christmas gift for my mom. This was one of the illustrations for that.
